How To Add Custom Messages To The Booking Page

If you'd like to add a custom message to appear on the booking page, the booking confirmation page and the booking confirmation email, please see the steps below. For a template on how to include a Menu to the booking, please scroll down to the bottom of this article.

Click on the ' TablePath ' logo in the top left.

Click on ' Configure ' at the bottom left hand side of the page.

Click on ' Custom Messages '.

Click 'Add New Message'.

When the popup appears, select the room you would like the bookings in that room to appear for. If left blank, the message will be shown for all rooms, regardless of the room where it is booked.

If you only want the message appearing for a specific table the booking is made on, select a table from the dropdown list.

Enter your message.

N.B. There are some special codes that allow dynamic changes to the message. For example, if the custom message was about asking the customer to vacate their table at a certain time, the message you might write is 'We kindly ask that your table is returned to us by [time-vacated]'. The [time-vacated] code will be replaced with the time the system has booked their table until. For example, if bookings get 2 hours at a table and they book at 6pm, the message will replace 'We kindly ask that your table is returned to us by [time-vacated]' with 'We kindly ask that your table is returned to us by 8pm'.

If you only want the message to appear for specific days of the week, specific dates, or specific times, please set the relevant fields.

If you only want the message to appear for certain size bookings, please set the 'Min Number Of Guests' and 'Max Number Of Guests' fields.

If you only want the message to appear for certain channels (online or in-house), please tick the boxes 'For Online Bookings Only' and/or 'For In House Bookings Only'.

Once you are happy with those settings, please click 'Add New Custom Message'. This will save your Custom Message.

Testing your custom message

We strongly recommend that you test your new custom message after setting it up. To test it, please make a booking that should satisfy your criteria and check that the message is visible on the website and also in the confirmation email. Please contact support if you're having issues getting the message to appear.
